“When will change come”?

Dear Editor:
Does Ward A Councilman Sottolano care about his ward? Recently I got the opportunity to campaign along Ocean Avenue for Donald Payne Jr. and the response was great from small business owners who let me put signs up in their windows. What was even more funny was some businesses had Nia Gill for Congress signs in their windows but they allowed me to put Payne’s up as well. I’m having a great time campaigning for Donald Payne Jr. and I know he will pull a win on June 5th.
As I was along Ocean Avenue and was walking at times, many things really bothered me. Besides the litter and abandoned buildings, I saw people who looked desperate for help. The big question is “When will change come”? I saw a lot of kids hanging on the street and on sides of buildings with nothing to do. We need to make sure our youth has a bright future. Where is the community center in Ward A? The Mary Mcloud Bethume Center is in Ward F so it does not count. If we want crime to be lowered, we must act now. We must pressure our current representatives to do something.
Tonight really gave me a reality check. I almost began to cry because it just breaks my heart to see a community go down the drain. Once again tonight, I barely saw any police patrolling. There needs to be a heavy police presence and we need foot patrols now not just around election time. All I have to say is I’m proud to be apart of this team because I know Fulop and his backed council candidates will fight to move this city in the right direction. In order for Greenville to change, the community must see the representatives care about them and not political fame. Please spread the word to all of your family and friends in Ward A and anywhere else in the 10th Congressional District in supporting Donald Payne Jr. on June 5th.
