I’m proud to announce that I officially back Donald Payne Jr. for Congress. New Jersey’s 10th Congressional seat was formally held by the late Congressman Donald M. Payne. Congressman Payne was a huge advocate for the district. One reason why I supported him was because of his views on college education. He believed in making college more affordable. He was a huge fighter for the College Cost Reduction Act, which main purpose was to make undergraduate and graduate education more affordable for aspiring social-impact professionals.
As a current college student at Seton Hall University, college affordability is on a lot of students and parent’s minds during these hard economic times. One thing Congressman Payne possessed was integrity, honest, and he proved to be a successful leader.
As a Republican, I’m proud to cross party lines to support his son, Newark Council President and Freeholder Donald Payne Jr. for the 10th Congressional District seat. I believe he has what it takes to continue the legacy of his father. There are still many issues that need to be addressed in the district such as property tax relief, more jobs, and better educational opportunities for our children.
I know Donald Payne Jr. will fight like his dad not only for the 10th District but for New Jersey as a whole. I hope you will join me on Tuesday June 5th in supporting Donald Payne Jr. for the Democratic Party nomination.
