BAYONNE – A man armed with a gun in a car parked near Avenue C and 16th Street on Sunday shot another man in what police have described as an alleged “drug deal gone bad.”
Police Capt. Walter Rogers said the weapon went off in the car about 4:30 p.m.
Public safety personnel familiar with the incident said the weapon may have gone off accidentally while being brandished.
The victim was taken to Jersey City Medical Center where he was treated and released for a wound to the arm.
“The matter is being investigated,” Rogers said. “We should have the names of those involved by the end of the day.”
