Dear Editor:
A more appropriate title would’ve been ‘Youth with guns.’ On that note, this mayhem is a by–product of too much welfare, welfare that has ruined many cities in this country since the mindless 1960s. The reason “they” are “too idle” is proof. This behavior has more to do with a bloated sense of entitlement and a belief that they are victims.
Putting more police on the streets will not solve the problem, since the minute some thug gets a booboo from a cop, the race card is brought forth even if the cop is black, Hispanic or a member of some other “minority” group.
What is lacking in these communities is a sense of shame and responsibility. No one owes them anything! That is not what they have been told for the last 40 years, which is why we are where we are today.
