BMC workers do a fine job

To the Editor:
After my dad had spent several weeks at Columbus Hospital in Newark, I gave the staff a nice thank-you card. Yesterday I was thinking of doing the same for the staff of 5R at Bayonne Hospital. But then I thought it would mean more to do so publicly.
The nurses, the nurses’ assistants, the transporters, the cleaners and the rest of the staff that take care of patients do a very fine job. In spite of hard work, many unpleasant sights and smells, sometimes long hours, sometimes unthankful patients or demanding, impatient relatives, they continue to provide cheerful, quality care to those who become sick or need hospitalization: us, our relatives, friends and acquaintances.
No one is perfect and all of us can strive to work better and be more conscientious and cheerful. That being said, I would like to heartily thank all those of 5R of the Bayonne Medical Center who did their best to help my dad recover, help him be comfortable and cheer him up. God bless you and encourage you as you continue to provide quality care to those of us who get sick. We need you; keep up the good work!
