Dear Editor:
Jersey City needs to back downtown Councilman Steven Fulop for the mayoral seat next year. Under the current Mayor Healy administration many issues continue to rise on a daily basis. Ongoing issues include high taxes, high crime, failing public schools, and reducing our quality of life. Recently, the mayor has started Town Hall meetings to discuss the crime issue. I find it to be nonsense. He is only doing that because of the election next year and people need to realize that.
Jersey City is the second largest city in New Jersey and the most diverse city as well. Our city may be diverse but what about our neighborhoods? We need to have neighborhoods mixed with low income and middle class families. We need thriving neighborhoods. Our children need to play and learn with all races. This can be a safe world class city but it all starts with you. Recently, the Parents for Progress Team which was backed by Councilman Fulop won the school board elections. For the past three years, Team Fulop has swept the Board of Education elections. Residents are realizing the current administration policies are failing our children. This is why residents from all over the city are joining Team Fulop on a daily basis to volunteer their time for various events. Residents are coming together to fight to get a better city.
I’m proud to support Steven Fulop for mayor 2013. Everywhere I go in Jersey City, I always tell people to join the Fulop Team if you are sick and tired of the status quo. The election next year against the Hudson County Democratic Organization will be challenging but we can pull it off. Steven Fulop is a man with integrity and has passion to fix the damage which is continuing to occur everyday under the Healy administration. Fulop will fight to improve the quality of life in every community in Jersey City.
