North Bergen Police release sketch of alleged suspect wanted for fatal hit-and-run

NORTH BERGEN – Police have released a sketch of the man allegedly involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred at 51 St. and Tonnelle Ave. on Friday, March 23 at 11:48 p.m.
The victim, Omar Monroig, was struck by a dark-colored 2001-2004 Toyota Camry, which fled without stopping, according to police. Monroig died from his injuries on Sunday, April 1 at Hackensack University Medical Center.
According to town spokesman Phil Swibinski, the sketch was created from a witness account and depicts a white male age 50-70 with “tan or olive skin,” and 220-250 pounds. The alleged suspect is also approximately 5’8” to 5’10”, has brown hair and dark eyes, spoke with an accent, and has a “noticeable” mole near his mouth.
