HOBOKEN AND BEYOND — A student was found dead around 3 p.m. on Monday in a dorm room at the Stevens Institute of Technology on the Hoboken waterfront.
The student was identified Tueday as senior Mark Testa, 22, of Spotswood, N.J., according to a media report.
According to the Associated Press, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s office classified the death as “suspicious” only because the student was found alone, but that does not necessarily mean foul play was involved. On Tuesday afternoon, investigators said they ruled out homicide.
According to the AP, a school spokesman said there was no obvious evidence of a struggle or foul play.
Students were temporarily moved from the building, Palmer Hall, to another dorm.
Students milling around the campus on Tuesday were largely mum about the incident, saying they didn’t know much about it.
