Reflections on three local issues

Dear Editor:
I just have a few reflections on 3 stories that are ongoing.
I am glad that the city of Hoboken are preparing to be able to host a few Super Bowl events in 2014. Hopefully this will make our mile square city as popular as New York City.
I have mixed feelings about the building that’s going to be constructed right next to the W Hotel. Obviously this will bring jobs to the city, but I was really hoping it was going to be a park or some mixed used open space that will be eventually be built on that spot. Here’s hoping the business that will be in this building will stay here for a long time.
So, now we voters will have to go in November to vote for the candidates for the school board. I really hope this will save the city of Hoboken money and that the voter turn out will definitely increase.
Three stories that made living in Hoboken interesting. Spring will soon be here and with it brings change, both good and bad. I hope most of the changes will be good ones.
A very brief comment on Mr. John Bredin’s letter(in Feb.19,2012 edition) about Snooki’s (possible) education: he made a very intriguing premise that she would improve her mind thus improving heart and soul and be a better person for it. Now that would be an amazing transformation indeed. But who knows, nowadays it is much easier to be famous for being infamous.
More power to this local paper!

Respectfully yours,
Maria Theresa L. Rivera-Bartletta
