Bob’s Discount Furniture of Manchester, Conn. has announced that it will donate funds to seven schools in New Jersey, including St. Anne’s School of Jersey City, in support of arts and education programs. These funds are made possible through money collected in donation jars, which are located in each store’s cafe.
Kenneth Richmond, Bob’s New Jersey ambassador and Paramus store manager, will present $1,000 checks to the following schools this month:
• Stony Brook Elementary School, North Plainfield
• Crossroads North Middle School, Monmouth Junction
• Ridge Ranch Elementary School, Paramus
• St. Anne’s School, Jersey City
• Colonia High School, Colonia
• Build Academy, Paterson
• Wayne Valley High School, Wayne
“We value the community support we receive at all of our locations, and are thrilled to help enhance education and arts programs in these areas,” said Cathy Poulin, public relations director, Bob’s Discount Furniture. “We encourage donations in all of our stores, and distribute this money to worthy schools and community organizations up and down the East Coast.”
Every month, Bob’s randomly selects schools in the communities near its stores and grants a donation ranging from $1,000 – $5,000.
With stores across New England, New Jersey, New York, Maryland and Virginia, Bob’s has donated money to hundreds of schools over the last 20 years. Previous winners have used the donations for purchasing new art and classroom supplies, funding student activity groups and going on field trips.
