NORTH BERGEN AND BEYOND – A Newark federal grand jury today issued an indictment charging Hyon-Suk Chung, 49, North Bergen, and Rita Kim, 48, Fort Lee, with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, according to an e-mail from the United States Attorney’s Office.
The indictment alleges that Chung, Kim, and other co-conspirators were involved in a scheme that “fraudulently obtained and sold social security cards to customers” and participated in financial fraud. Kim and Chung, who are alleged to be members of the credit build-up teams that facilitated the fraud, each face a maxium potential penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
