Man crushed under vehicle in North Bergen

NORTH BERGEN AND BEYOND – A Fairview man was killed Friday morning after being crushed under a small vehicle he had been repairing, according to North Bergen Police.
Police say Oscar Coreas, 34, Fairview, was working alone overnight at a company on Railroad Avenue. Coreas, a mechanic, had been attempting to repair a Bobcat vehicle when it fell on him, police say. His wife initially alerted Coreas’ boss, who, without keys, was forced to break into the shop.
North Bergen Police, North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue, and the Hudson County Medical Examiner’s Office responded the scene. Coreas was pronounce dead at 10:35 a.m, police say. -Stephen LaMarca
