Hudson County residents driven batty over Weehawken supermarket’s tape of angry birds

HUDSON COUNTY — People living close to Park Avenue near the Weehawken/Union City border have been hearing a recording of angry hawks for at least six months, and recently, they said they’ve had enough. The sounds were coming from a tape being played by a nearby supermarket to keep pigeons at bay.
The supermarket also has fake owls and other materials intended to keep the birds away.
But a local woman who owns 11 pet birds of her own said that she hates hearing the noises. Her neighbor wasn’t sure at first what they were, and when she found out, she also complained.
