A funeral mass was held Jan. 3 at St. Francis R.C. Church, Hoboken, for Alphonse A. Procaccino, 84, of Hoboken. He passed away peacefully on Dec. 30 at the Hoboken Medical Center. A retired employee for the Continental Can Company in Jersey City for more than 35 years, Al later became the manager of security for the Maxwell House Coffee Company in Hoboken retiring for a second time. A Navy Veteran Seabee, he was a parishioner of St. Francis Church in Hoboken and a member of the Holy Name Society there. Alphonse was also a member of the American Legion in Hoboken. Surviving is his wife of 62 years Chlorinda (nee Strabioli). In 2009 he was predeceased by a son, Francis X. Procaccino. Also surviving are two other sons, Alphonse II and his wife JoAnne, Mark and his companion Gale and his only daughter Linda Cantatore and her husband Jack. Also surviving is his daughterinlaw Laura, two sisters Mary Barone and Lena DeRobertis, a brother Pellegrino and his wife Frances. He was a grandfather to Amanda Prunty, Alyssa, Jenna, Alexa, Joseph, Chase, Tahlia, Nicholas and Christopher. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
