HOBOKEN AND BEYOND — A 23-year-old Newark man was punched so hard in the face by one of his future in-laws on Jan. 1 at 2 a.m. that his nose was left in the shape of an S, police said.
Police responded to a report of a fight involving five to six individuals near 15th and Hudson streets when they found the 23-year-old man with a bloody nose, according to police. Many of the people involved in the altercation were related, police said. The argument started in a nearby 14th Street bar, but the group was asked to leave by the security staff, according to police. The conversation eventually turned violent, police said, and the man suffered a punch in the nose.
Police alleged that the man was punched by a future in-law. However, no criminal charges were filed by the victim.
