Home for the holidays

NB, Guttenberg houses decked out with ornaments

North Bergen and Guttenberg residents have fully embraced the holiday spirit as Christmas, Hannukah, and other holidays fast approach.
Many parents – joined by the helpful hands of their children – have adorned their houses with wreaths, lights, and lawn ornaments to show off their spirit.
The town of Guttenberg recently awarded a $7,000 contract to a Philadelphia company for holiday decorations in the municipal building. Guttenberg also has adorned the streets of Park and Broadway with wreaths.

Similarly, North Bergen’s lit-up snowflakes adorn lampposts along major streets.
Many neighborhoods have competitive residents constantly outdoing one another in attempt to claim their title as “best house on the block.” Noteworthy are the houses along Park Avenue, from 74th-78th streets. Several of these houses, with giant motorized snow globes, Santas, and other ornaments, really take the (fruit)cake.
