Santa makes special appearance

Residents line streets for annual holiday parade

Residents stood up and down Paterson Plank Road on Dec. 3 to watch the second annual holiday parade in Secaucus. Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus made a special appearance in a horse-drawn carriage and the town officially welcomed its new resident, a 14 foot T-rex that is part of the new Field Station dinosaur park coming to town (see cover story).
The mayor and council led the parade and were followed by groups like the Secaucus High School Marching Band, the Girl and Boy Scouts, recreation teams, a pink Relay for Life fire truck, UNICO, and many others. Children of all ages wore holiday colors and some were even dressed up as Christmas presents.
