Funeral mass took place Nov. 28 at Our Lady of Grace R.C. Church in Hoboken for Rose M. Gottilla. She passed away Nov. 25 in the presence of her son at the Hamilton Health Center in Jersey City. Rose was a retired telephone operator for NYNEX in New York City for more than 20 years, retiring in 1982. A lifelong Hoboken resident, Rose was predeceased by her husband Julius in 1952. A mother to her only surviving son Julius Gottilla, she was pre-deceased by seven siblings: her sisters, Anna and Jennie Syracuse; and brothers, Walter, Michael, Albert, Eugene and Joseph Syracuse. She will be missed by a host of nieces and nephews. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
