Private funeral services have been held for Florence T. Eisen, 87. She died Nov. 14 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. She was employed for over 30 years as a school teacher, first with Jersey City and later in Union City, where she taught grades K through 8, and taught English to non-English speaking students. She later taught reading and special education in the Brick Township School System before her retirement over 20 years ago. She was a member of the NJEA, and was a former parishioner of the Church of the Visitation, Brick. Born in Jersey City, she lived there, and in Union City and Brick before moving to Manchester last year. She is predeceased by her brother, Leonard J. Thompson who died in 1996; her sister Evelyn Brown, who died in 2003; and her son-in-law, James Brower, who died in 2008. Surviving is her daughter, Veronica “Ronny” Brower; her sister Loretta Demmerle and her husband Fred; and her granddaughter, Coleen Brower. Services arranged by the Oliverie Funeral Home, Manchester.
