Funeral services took place Nov. 5 for Bartholomew Francis Masciale, Jr., 69. “Bucky” died Nov. 2 in Red Bank. He was born in Jersey City and lived there until 1999. Bucky learned his craft as a chef in his Uncle Roy’s Restaurant on Kennedy Blvd. in Jersey City and over the next forty years he also worked at The Exchange Inn in Jersey City, and Murphy’s Restaurant, also in Jersey City. He was a member in fellowship of The Loft in Sea Bright and a former member of Rooftop in Jersey City.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Mary Anne Masciale; his daughter and son-in-law, Maria Grace and Kenneth Sullivan; his son, Bartholomew Masciale III; his grandchildren, Peter Miranda, Anthony Miranda, and Michele Sullivan, his sister, Loretta Delfino; and also known as Grumpy Grampy to Ashley, Madison, Gracie, Kaitlyn, and Brookelynn Sullivan. Bartholomew was preceded in death by his parents, Bartholomew and Helen Masciale; his sister, Marie Giaquinto; and his brother, Vincent Masciale. Services arranged by the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
