A funeral service took place Nov. 10 for Violet Hyatt. She passed away Nov. 6. Wife of the late Raymond Hyatt, former superintendent of Public Works in West New York, she was born to Sarah and David Kozam. Violet was predeceased by her sisters, Nora Abdella and Mary Barakat and her brothers, Ned and Ernest Kozam. Violet was better known as “Sew Sew.” She began sewing at the age of 14. She never viewed it as a job; she loved it and she did it well. Violet loved her son Raymond; who with his wife Carol gave Violet her first granddaughter Brittney. Violet’s daughter Susan and her son-in-law Kevin Connolly are the parents of Violet’s granddaughter Sarah. Sarah and Sew Sew’s devotion to each other was unconditional.
