To the Editor:
There comes a time while traveling through life that you meet someone special along the way. He is just an everyday unassuming, gentle person who is always there to lend a helping hand. It could be by writing a thoughtful letter to a family whose grandpa passed away or helping a little girl not feel sad about wearing braces or joining the Halloween parade at Mary J. Donohoe School in a hideous costume. He played Santa every Christmas with gusto. He always stops and asks about long ago graduated children.
So I thank him – not for being a hero, but for being there for everyone, for his humor and wit, for being a family man, educator, writer, sportsman and dreaded umpire. How lucky we are to know him.
I thank you, Mike Lynch. Congrats on your new position at Holy Family.
