WISNER, WILLIAM R

A funeral mass has been held at St. Dominic Church, Brick for William R. Wisner. He died Oct. 28 after a long illness. Born in Jersey City, he was the son of the late William Wisneski and Teophila Kaminska. William was a student at All Saints Catholic Grammar School in Jersey City, St. Michael’s High School and was a graduate of Saint Peter’s College. He was a staff accountant for several local businesses in the Jersey City area for many years, including United Cork Company and Onyx Chemical Corporation, before starting his own accounting practice. William was also active in St. Aloysius Church as well as All Saints Church, Jersey City in the 1970s, serving as a Lector and Commentator at St. Aloysius Church and volunteering at Bingo fundraising at All Saints Church in his native Lafayette neighborhood.
In 1979 he and his family relocated to Brick, eventually settling in Brielle in 1995. William was predeceased by his wife, the late Joan M. McDonald Wisner; his son, William Myles Wisner; and his beloved sister Irene Wisneski Narkey. He is survived by his sister Teresa Wisneski Greene; his daughters, Dr. Jacqueline J. R. Wisner and Dr. Jean Wisner Dupon; and his wonderful grandchildren: Daniel B. Dupon, Nicholas J. Dupon, Catherine A. Bhattacharya, Allison H. Bhattacharya and Carolyn J.S. Bhattacharya. A private cremation is planned with his ashes spread in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Services arranged by the Colonial Funeral Home, Brick.
