Dear Editor:
When campaigning for mayor Dawn Zimmer promised to sell the hospital. She has fulfilled her promise.
Mayor Zimmer appointed people to the board willing to follow her lead. Then she went after and got support from the governor and state agencies. Dawn never took her eye off the ball.
Her majority on the city council supported her throughout. And in the end, actions by the council minority saved the city $5 million and squeezed concessions from the buyer.
The city is off a $52 million hook, and the hospital employees have their jobs. This is a victory for all of us.
