Raymaker supports Dan Levin for City Council

Dear Editor:
I am writing to ask Jersey City voters to cast their ballots for Dan Levin, 15F, in the municipal at large election on Nov 8th. I support Dan because he founded Civic JC and introduced the “Pay to Play” reform ordinance in 2007. Thanks to Dan, Civic JC, and other progressive citizens, campaign contributions from people doing business with the city are restricted. Our city is no longer blatantly up for sale.
Dan is intelligent and informed. He attends council meetings and offers common sense solutions. He is a positive force for reinvigorating Jersey City government. He understands that government must work for the people – not for the politicians. He is not part of the political patronage system of “who you know.”
Dan practices what he preaches. His family uses public transportation. Dan has manifested his civic concern by volunteering for years with the Jersey City Landmarks Conservancy, the Harsimus Cove Neighborhood Association and Bike JC. He is respectful, level headed, and progressive. He will work to build consensus on the council and get business done. He will not put himself above the people. He will listen to us.
I am proud to support him. Please vote for Dan Levin on Nov 8th. To learn more, please go to OneJerseyCity.org
