Dear Editor:
The Friends of the Hoboken Public Library are delighted to report the success of Novella Night, a “lite” version of the Friends’ Novel Night dining event, to benefit the Hoboken Public Library. The funds raised by this event will support a variety of special Library needs.
On October 15, Hoboken hosts opened their homes to nearly 200 guests for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Our profuse thanks go to the event hosts for their culinary creativity and generous hospitality: Alison Borelli and family, including Doris White; Kim and Paul Demopoulos; Joan and Kyle Enger; John and Amy Faucher; Joel and Marilyn Freiser; Tricia and Trevor Gallagher; Leah Holton and friends; Mary Kelly and Chris Meyerink; Jeri Slavin and Marty Gottlieb; and Lori and Howard Turoff. Also appreciated is the contribution by Anthony Pino of Anthony David’s, who not only judged a Kelly/Meyerink chili cook-off but also donated $50. certificates to Anthony David’s for the top winners. Visit www.hobokenfol.org/novelnight.html to see photos from some of this year’s parties.
There were too many party guests to name individually, but we are grateful to each and every one for being an essential ingredient in this successful evening. We also thank those who could not attend but nevertheless made gifts to support the Library.
Thanks also go to the Novella Night Committee—Melanie Best, Alexandra Brady, Joan Enger, Phil Huling, Myrna Kasser, Jane Klueger, Susan Moore, and Alicia Weinstein—who devoted many hours over many months to produce this event.
Sincerely,
Ruth Charnes
Chair, Novel Night Committee
