Shelter artists & Hob art members exhibit at Hoboken Public Library. ‘I feel better already’

Hoboken Public Library announces the opening of the exhibition, “I Feel Better Already,” created by members of hob’art cooperative gallery and patrons of the Hoboken Shelter at their Monday evening Shelter workshops. Hosted by hob’art gallery and conducted by, Ibou Ndoye, one of the founding members of hob’art, the artists produced beautiful artworks. They used the traditional West African medium of reverse glass painting in workshops during August and September. Mr. Ndoye, who was trained in his native Dakar, Senegal, instructed the artists in this method of painting. The gallery members exhibiting their work with Ibou Ndoye, include Heather Leigh Corey, Liz Cohen, France Garrido, Laura Renee Meyerson and Jodi Zulueta.
The show opened to the public on Sunday, September 25th and will close on October 29th, 2011. The show is open to the public and is located on the second floor…
Naming the exhibition, “I Feel Better Already,” was inspired by a statement made by a Shelter participant. The artworks will be available for purchase and all proceeds will go to the individual artists. The hob’art cooperative gallery greatly appreciates the Shelter and the Library for their support and assistance with this wonderful project, another Community Outreach project by the members of the gallery.
