Hoboken cop charged with DWI, report says

HOBOKEN – An off-duty police officer in Hoboken was charged with driving while intoxicated after he crashed his car on Clinton Street near Fifth Street on Oct. 12 at approximately 3:30 a.m., according to a report on NJ.com.
Officials from the Hoboken Police Department could not be immediately reached to confirm the details or the name of the officer.
The report states that the officer was placed on desk duty pending the outcome of the DWI charges. The vehicle ended up on its side after the crash, according to the report.
The report also states that police officers responding to the crash found several damaged cars in the area, and the off-duty officer was still inside his vehicle, which was on its side in the middle of the street.
