CARNEY, CHARLES E. SR

A funeral mass was offered Sept. 28 at St. Ann’s R.C. Church in Hoboken for Charles E. Carney Sr. 80, of Hoboken. He passed away in the presence of his family at Hackensack University Medical Center on Sept. 25. A resident of Hoboken since 1956, Mr. Carney was born in Jersey City. A Navy veteran from 1951 to 1956. Formerly employed as a mechanic, by trade, Charles later worked for Baker and William’s in NYC, NY, from where he retired. Surviving is his wife Rose Marie (Urspruch) of 55 years. Five children; Patricia Enrico, Charles Carney and his wife Lucy, Joseph Carney, Diane Carney, and David Carney and his wife Kristian. Twelve endeared Grandchildren; Victoria, Anthony, Christina, Theresa, Heather, Melissa, Joseph, Jennifer, Alyssa, Jessica, Isabella, and David. Charles is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Florence Carney; two brother’s Elmer and Edward; and a sister Florence Verheyhen. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
