Dear Editor:
I would like to extend a sincere thank you to all emergency personnel and members of town departments and agencies for their quick response to the severe weather crisis brought about by Hurricane Irene. In particular, I would like to thank the members of the Office of Emergency Management, Police and Fire Departments, as well as the DPW, Social Services, Board of Education and Meadowlands Hospital for their joint cooperation before, during, and after the Hurricane.
I also want to gratefully acknowledge the contributions of the members of the Offices of the County Sheriff, OEM and the County’s Office of Public Works. Thank you also to the members of the Town Council for their invaluable assistance.
I believe that through the coordinated efforts of our Town and County departments, agencies and volunteers, lives were saved and, wherever possible, property damage was prevented.
