Stack is a fight waiting to happen

Dear Editor:

Recently, Al Sullivan wrote an article “What’s bugging Brian?” The article went on to discuss how Brian Stack has had difficultly getting along with his fellow elected officials. To most people familiar with Hudson County politics this is old news. Brian Stack has a long history of fighting and turning against many people who have helped him along the way. Back in 1998, after Brian Stack lost an election to Rudy Garcia, Mr. Garcia extended an olive branch to Brian Stack and bought him into his administration. What did Brian do to thank him? With the help of the school board president and several commissioners he staged a coup and over threw Mr. Garcia from within. After using the board president and commissioners to get what he wanted (becoming the mayor) he removed each commissioner one by one. Brian Stack has opposed just about everyone in Hudson County. He has fought with Senator Menendez, former West New York Mayor Sal Vega, former State Senator Bernard Kenny, former Sheriffs Perez and Cassidy and as per Mr. Sullivan’s article he is currently fighting with both his assembly running mates, the county executive, and just about the entire Hudson County delegation. Just Recently Mayor Stack decided to pick a fight with the New Jersey Education Association by calling them the evil empire. It seems that Brian Stack cannot get along with anyone. A few weeks ago Brian Stack held a public meeting with Jersey City Councilman Steve Fulop. I would predict that once Stack gets whatever he needs from Mr. Fulop he will be fighting with him as well. If I may give Mr. Fulop one piece of advice; do yourself a favor and stay away from Brian Stack; he is a fight waiting to happen.

Sincerely,
Pat Brennen Former Hudson County Resident
