Report: State police join search for missing Jersey City mom, Randy “Amanda” Lehrer

JERSEY CITY AND BEYOND — The state police have joined the search for a woman in Jersey City who has been missing for over a week.
The Jersey City police said last week that Randy “Amanda” Lehrer, 32, was not seen since last Tuesday. They also said her husband was uncooperative and refused to be questioned without a lawyer.
On Wednesday, NJ.com reported that the state police have joined the investigation. They also reported that Lehrer’s husband was the one who reported her missing, and that he had told police she had left after an argument on Wednesday. However, co-workers at Tommy’s Restaurant in Jersey City told police that it seemed unlikely that she would just leave the couple’s 10-month-old daughter, and that she never missed work until she disappeared (except for when she gave birth).
The daughter is staying with grandparents.
An employee of Tommy’s Restaurant told hudsonreporter.com on Tuesday that Lehrer’s mother and sister had come down from Canada to assist in the search.
A group of concerned volunteers was scheduled to hand out flyers in Jersey City Wednesday night; for updates, keep watching hudsonreporter.com.
If you have a tip on the case, call the Jersey City police at 201-547-5245.
