A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Aug. 12 at St. Aedan’s R.C. Church for Shane Namnama, 40, formerly of Jersey City. He passed away Aug. 7 after a long illness. He was born Liborio Shane Esteban Namnama in Honolulu, Hawaii. A graduate of St. Peter’s Prep and Creighton University, Omaha, Neb., Shane taught Language Arts at various schools, most notably at Dickinson High School in Jersey City. He also volunteered and was a mentor for the N.Y.C. Literacy Program. Surviving are his parents, Liborio P. and Celerina (nee Esteban) Namnama; a sister, Sarah Saria and her husband, Robert; a brother Melvin; nieces and nephews, Matthew and Lauren Saria and Nicholas, Megan and Victoria Namnama.
