Body found in JC near Hoboken
JERSEY CITY– Police were called on Saturday to the scene of a decomposed body in Jersey City near the Hoboken border, not far from the light rail train tracks at Eighth and Jackson streets in Hoboken, according to several published reports.
A call to the police was not immediately returned.
The person was later identified as a homeless man named James Borges, 34, whose last known address was Hoboken, according to a newspaper report.
The report said that investigators found no evidence of foul play, but are still investigating to be sure.

New Jersey Symphony Orchestra performing in Hoboken Thursday
HOBOKEN – The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, directed by Jacques Lacombe and conducted by Neeme Jarvi, will hold a free outdoor concert on Thursday, Aug. 18 at 7:30 p.m. in Hoboken’s downtown Pier A Park.
The show will include music from The Cowboys, The Sound of Music, and The Moldau, as well as favorites by Gershwin, Irving Berlin and Johann Strauss Jr., according to a release.
The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, now in its 88th season, comprises some of the country’s finest musicians. The Orchestra provides more than 250 performances each year, bringing music to more than 150,000 people annually.
The event is presented by the city of Hoboken, Mayor Dawn Zimmer, The Applied Companies, and Burgiss Group.

Findings from investigation into Arturo Gatti’s death to be revealed Aug. 30
NORTH BERGEN – At 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30, the findings of an 10-month investigation surrounding boxing legend Arturo Gatti’s death will be revealed at a press conference in the Global Boxing Gym at 5601-5711 Tonnelle Ave. in North Bergen.
Three-time world champion Arturo Gatti, who has lived in Jersey City, was found dead in his apartment in Brazil on July 11, 2009 at the age of 37. Authorities at first incarcerated his widow on suspicion of murder, but she was released when Brazilian police ruled his death a suicide. The investigation was put forth by Pat Lynch, Gatti’s manager.
