SECAUCUS — Secaucus will perform energy upgrades to various municipal buildings after securing a second Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant, officials said.
The town also received another round of funding from Direct Install – an energy incentive program offered by the NJ Clean Energy Program.
The combined funding of $133,626.82 will pay for the installation of new light fixtures, boilers, switches, thermostats, and sensors at the DPW Garage, the Senior Center, the MUA, and Fire House #3. These upgrades are projected to save taxpayers over $15,660 in the first year of operation alone.
The first round of funding paid for upgrades at the Municipal Ice Rink, Animal Shelter, and DPW Garage. Work for the second phase of installation is not yet scheduled but should begin in the near future.
