New Jersey Symphony Orchestra performing in Hoboken this week

HOBOKEN – The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, directed by Jacques Lacombe and conducted by Neeme Jarvi, will hold a free outdoor concert on Aug. 18 at 7:30 p.m. in Hoboken’s downtown Pier A Park.
The show will include music from The Cowboys, The Sound of Music, and The Moldau, as well as favorites by Gershwin, Irving Berlin and Johann Strauss Jr., according to a release.
The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, now in its 88th season, comprises some of the country’s finest musicians. The Orchestra provides more than 250 performances each year, bringing music to more than 150,000 people annually.
The event is presented by the city of Hoboken, Mayor Dawn Zimmer, The Applied Companies, and Burgiss Group.
