A funeral mass was offered Aug. 4 at St. Paul of the Cross R.C. Church in Jersey City for Raffaela Pizza, 95. She died July 31 at the Meadowlands Hospital in Secaucus. Born in Monte San Giacomo, Italy, Raffaela came to the United States in 1965. Mrs. Pizza was a homemaker, and a resident of Jersey City since 1965. She was predeceased by her husband Antonio in 1994 and a son Michaele in 2010. Surviving are two sons: Angelo and his wife Ada, and Giuseppe and his wife Giovanna; and a daughter-in-law Arcangela Pizza; eight grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren are her legacy of love.
