JERSEY CITY AND BEYOND — From Wednesday, Aug. 10 to Sunday, Aug. 14, Holy Rosary Church will celebrate 126 years as the first Italian parish in the state of New Jersey. As part of this celebration, Holy Rosary will host the 108th Annual Parish Feast, known as La Festa Italiana.
The festivities will include a novena to Our Lady of Assumption, beginning on Saturday, August 6, and a street procession on Sunday, Aug. 14. The Triduum to St. Rocco will be held from Aug. 13 to 15.
Throughout the festival there will be gourmet foods and delectable sweets made by parishioners. There will be fresh mozzarella from the Mozzarella Boss; Italian sausage and pepper sandwiches; freshly baked brick oven pizza; smoothies; Cuban burgers; shish-ka-bobs, and Belgium waffle treats.
The outdoor Caffe Italiano will feature two full-service bars and a wine tent featuring a selection of Italian wines, homemade limoncello.
Holy Rosary Church is located on Sixth Street, Brunswick and Monmouth streets.
