JERSEY CITY AND BEYOND – Looking for a special-ops ready-fire shotgun ammo pouch ($34.99), or a muzzle break for an AK-47 ($8.49 to $13.99)?
If so, Jersey City may have just the place for you.
Just weeks after Jersey City held a successful gun buyback program, a new retail store, First Line Tactical, is preparing to make its debut on Palisades Avenue.
According to the company’s web site, First Line specializes in the retail sale of “tactical gear and firearms accessories. All First Line Tactical brand products have been rigorously field tested, and all products are quality checked by our staff prior to shipping.”
But soon Jersey City residents who are in a hurry to get their hands on iron gun sights ($36.99) won’t have to order online. Beginning August 11, they’ll be able to visit 353 Palisade Ave. to do their shopping.
Various city officials said Thursday that so long as First Line isn’t selling firearms the business is within its legal rights.
“The reality of it is, we may have our personal feelings about it, as long as they meet all of the legal standards we have no option other than to hope that they have the best of intentions and are cautious about who they do business with,” said Jersey City Police Chief Tom Comey.
Chief Comey said he has visited First Line’s web site.
The Jersey City Heights storefront will be the first East Coast location for First Line Tactical, which is based in Texas.
