HOBOKEN – It’s never too early to begin planning for a pasta party.
The city of Hoboken is selling tickets for the annual spaghetti dinner that takes place on the downtown Sinatra Drive waterfront walkway on Sept. 1 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Tickets are on sale for $15 until Aug. 24, and then they will be $20. Tickets for children 12 and under are $8. After Aug. 24, children’s tickets will be $10.
A dinner includes four kinds of pasta, meatballs, sausage, salad, bread, and dessert. Wine, beer, water, and soda will also be available at additional cost, and the funds raised will be donated to the Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
Checks should be made out to the City of Hoboken, and mailed to the Hoboken Division of Cultural Affairs, 94 Washington St., Hoboken, NJ 07030. Or, stop in at City Hall to purchase tickets.
Include a piece of paper with your name, address, and phone number and how many tickets you would like to purchase.
The Spaghetti Dinner Block Party was an event that started in 2005 to celebrate Hoboken’s 150th Anniversary, according to a city release.
“The idea was to recreate a community event that took place in 1955 for the City’s 100th Anniversary – a Spaghetti Dinner Block Party on Washington Street, except now it is held along the waterfront,” according to a release. – Ray Smith
