A funeral mass was offered July 25 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Jersey City, for Frances M. Rossi, 74. She died July 20 at Jersey City Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a lifelong resident of Jersey City. She volunteered for many organizations including PTA’s hospitals and Little League where she was named Woman of the Year. She was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Jersey City and St. Paul’s Senior Club. She was a special mother and Nan to many who will always remember her famous candy drawer. She is preceded in death by her husband Henry Rossi; parents, Francis and Ethel Merrigan; son, Michael Rossi; granddaughter, Erika Brower; sister, Mildred Powell and 2 brothers, Larry and Buddy Greehalgh. Surviving are three daughters, Debra Brower and her husband Donald; Cindy Gillette and her late husband Timmy; and Donna Lucas and her late husband Mark; one sister, Theresa Marr; six grandchildren, Brian Brower, Adam Brower, Kimberly Brower, Timothy Gillette, Michael Gillette, and Nicole Gillette; and special friends Robert and Dolores Dunleavy. Services arranged by the Greenville Memorial Home, Jersey City.
