Funeral mass was performed July 28 at St. Mary’s Church, West New York, for Edmond Monti Sr., 78. He passed away July 23 at Hackensack University Medical Center. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. John was chief of detectives for the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office before retiring. He was chairman of the Hudson County Housing Authority for 47 years. He was the father of Edmond Monti Jr. and his wife Robyn, and grandfather of Christina Monti and Dominic Monti.
