A memorial service was held July 28 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, Jersey City, for Gilbert Keyes. He passed July 25 at Christ Hospital, Jersey City. Mr. Gilbert was a lifelong resident of Jersey City. He was the husband of Josephine Keyes; father of Gilbert Jr., Emmette, Deman, and Leann Keyes; son of (the late) George and Princetta Keys; brother of George Keys, Jimmie Keys, Sandra Bryant, Wanda Jones, Gwendolyn Powell, and (the late) Willie Larkins, Larry, and James Edward Keys; stepfather of Elena Dowdell; special friend of Horace Haigler; grandfather of 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. He’s also survived by a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Services arranged by the Watson Mortuary Service, Jersey City.
