A funeral service was held July 29 at Evangelismos Greek Orthodox Church, Jersey City, for Constantine A. Karagounelis, 90, affectionately know as “Gus.” He died July 23 in Hospice of Palm Beach County at Good Samaritan Hospital, West Palm Beach, Fla. Born in Jersey City, he relocated to West Palm Beach in 2008. He retired in 1985 after 42 years as an engineer with Westinghouse Corp. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was the husband of the late Melachrine (Karnoutsos); father of Debbie Demetrios and her husband John and brother of the late Evelyn Notarides, Helen Cosmoglos and Terry Dangles.
