Commercial Laundry to build large North Bergen facility

Prestige Corp., a commercial laundry based out of the Bronx, plans to develop a $7.3 million facility in North Bergen, according to the Record of Hackensack. The move would create 176 jobs over two years.
The laundry specializes in cleaning linen for restaurants and hotels. The company plans to close the Bronx laundry and move the 46 jobs to North Bergen.
On Thursday, July 14, The New Jersey Economic Development Authority approved an $844,800 grant under the state’s Business Employment Incentive Program, a program that encourages businesses to expand and create jobs in New Jersey. The facility, planned to be approximately 80,000 to 100,000 square feet, will be located on 91st Street.

Former Vietnam POW from NB talks this weekend

Former North Bergen and Jersey City resident David Drummond, who was taken prisoner by the North Vietnamese from December of 1972 to March of 1973, will retell the story of his experiences this weekend.
A POW’s Story, hosted by the New Jersey Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial Foundation, was scheduled to take place Saturday, July 23 at 1 p.m. in the Vietnam Era Museum & Educational Center in Holmdel. Ridge Auto Group acquires new location in North Bergen

New York-based auto dealer Ridge Auto Group has acquired a 105,000-square-foot building in North Bergen for $6.9 million.
The building, at 7500 West Side Avenue, will be used as an auto prep center to store cars.
