West New York cousins sentenced in stabbing death of a Union City man last year

WEST NEW YORK AND UNION CITY — According to media sources, on Thursday, two cousins were sentenced to state prison after being found guilty in the 2010 stabbing death of a 23-year-old Union City man they drank with the same night at a local Union City night club.
The owner of the bar was indicted on charges of continuing to sell liquor after a license revocation a few years ago.
The night of the assault, the younger brother of the victim escaped with critical wounds.
Both cousins are 19 years old and must serve 85 percent of the sentences before parole eligibility. The cousin who plead guilty to the aggravated assault of the victim’s younger brother was given 20 years and the other received 18 years, according to sources.
