To the Editor:
Nicholas Oresko, School No. 14 would like to thank Carvel and Wendy’s. The next time you want a cool ice cream or burger and fries, we urge the Bayonne community to support these two very generous businesses and their managers. They wholeheartedly support the students of Bayonne.
Tell Richie at Carvel and Mario at Wendy’s that the Nicholas Oresko School P.T.O. sent you. We would like to thank the two major fundraising partners for the past school year. Carvel Ice Cream is located at 478 Broadway, and Wendy’s is located at 181 LeFante Way. Both franchises have allowed the school P.T.O. to pick a “cashola” night, where the P.T.O. sent home fliers and e-mails asking students and their families and friends to go to either Carvel or Wendy’s on a designated date during a two-hour time slot. In return, the franchises donated 20 percent of their sales back to the school for that time slot.
It was a success for all involved. Carvel has been a long-time supporter of the Nicholas Oresko School No. 14 P.T.O. and we would like to thank Richie Saleh. The manager and owner has continued his support and hundreds of dollars have been donated to the school and its children over the years.
Wendy’s is a new sponsor to the school and we would like to thank Mario Diaz, the manager, for this new and continuing partnership. This past year, $400 has been raised during the two “cashola” nights.
Thank you from the Nicholas Oresko School No. 14 P.T.O. and all the children that this money goes to help. You are both a model to our community.
