Assault suspect has history of violent crime

BAYONNE – A 16-year-old Bayonne boy charged with the assault that left 22-year-old David Strucinski of Bayonne in a coma on July 3 is also facing assault and weapons charges for a previous offense, police said.
Police said he had a history of violent crime and that he was facing weapon possession and assault charges in another matter prior to this incident, that may have involved the use of a baseball bat.
Meanwhile friends of Strucinski will hold a fundraiser that will include performances by local bands the Scandals, Lethal Strike, the Departures, and possibly others at the Old Polish Home on West 22nd Street starting at 3:30 p.m. today. This will include an auction and the sale of wristbands. All funds raised will be donated to the Strucinski family.
