KELLENBERGER, JOSEPHINE GARCIA

A private funeral was held for Josephine Garcia Kellenberger, 92, of Union City. She passed away June 19. She was born in Havana, Cuba, and came to the U.S. in 1945. She was a lifelong resident of Union City. She was a designer/seamstress and worked for High Point and Kellenberger Embroideries. She was an accomplished, prize-winning artist and an avid reader. She enjoyed the culture of New York and loved to travel. She was predeceased by her husbands, Michael Garcia in 1968 and Walter Kellenberger in 1991. Josephine was also predeceased by her sisters, Maria Antonia, Concepcion Cepero, her brother Joseph San Emeterio, daughter Josephine and son Michael. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Michael’s Monastery, Union City, a member of the legion of Mary and volunteered many hours in the service of the church. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Amy and Edward Doderer, Suzanne and Christopher McMahon, Elizabeth Garcia, Richard Garcia and Linda Garcia. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Edward, Daniel and Timothy Doderer, Megan and Matthew McMahon, Michele, Denise, David, Karen and MaryAnn Garcia, and nine great-grandchildren. Services arranged by the Leber Funeral Home, Union City.
