Summer program registration this week
Registration week for Weehawken’s summer recreation program will be held on June 20, June 21, and June 22 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Weehawken Town Hall, 400 Park Ave.
Registration for summer trips, clinics, and programs will be open to all residents and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Many are in high demand, so plan accordingly. Registration for these programs will continue after these dates, but space is limited and some programs many not be available at a later date.
Parents need to register their own children. Proof of residency is required for registration. Any fees for trips or clinics must be paid for at the time of registration. For further information, call the Recreation Department at (201) 319-6061.
A copy of the full summer program is available at www.weehawken-nj.us. Public access computers are available at the Weehawken Public Library for those who may not be able to access the document from a computer at home.
Township meeting rescheduled
The regularly scheduled Weehawken Township Council meeting scheduled for June 22 at 7 p.m. has been rescheduled to June 29 at 7 p.m. The meeting will take place in the second floor Council Chambers at Town Hall.
Weekenders trip to Niagara Falls planned
There is still room for September trip with the Weehawken Weekenders to Niagara Falls. Join the group from Sept. 12 to Sept. 15 for a four-day/three-night visit. Breakfasts, dinners, sightseeing fees, transportation, luggage handling, and all gratuities included for $495 per person double occupancy. Sightseeing includes the Maid of the Mist and falls tour, Niagara-on-the-Lake visit, winery tour and sampling, visit to Niagara’s Fallsview Casino, Imax, and more. Take a walk with Dad

On Tuesday, Hudson County residents are invited to join the BCAS and the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission for the monthly bird walk. This free, two-hour guided nature walk explores the birding hotspots at DeKorte Park. Check meadowblog.net for last-minute updates and weather advisories.
